To become an artistic information analyst, and/or a computational designer or digital artist are my dream career. To become somebody helpful and caring to the world is a life-long endeavor.
Social Networking Development
In the summer of 2009, I am a Social Networking Development intern at Pitney Bowes, Advanced Concepts and Technology (the R&D department of the corporation), with the Emerging Internet Technology group. To sum up my research and work, are the three elegant terms: data manipulation, information visualization, and network analysis.
I am fortunate to work in both fields of the application of information visualization:
1. Visualization for researchers, i.e. to use visualization as an exploratory data analysis (EDA) method to examine social media applications and online communities. and
2. Visualization for end users, i.e. to develop visualization applications as an information browsing approach so that non-technical users could also enjoy the power of multidimensional graphs.
For part 1, I come up with data visualization graphs for the intranet social media platforms, many of them to be used in future academic papers. And I accidentally stumble upon some mysteriously pretty graphs:

And for part 2, I develop a visualization widget for users to explore their expertise network, for the purpose of ad-hoc team building with a global perspective.
